Location: USC Rossier School of Education and Los Angeles Unified School District
Ed.U is connecting M.Ed candidates from the USC Rossier School of Education with local public school teachers for in-classroom mentorship and to fulfill in-classroom teaching hours. In addition to fulfilling in-classroom hours towards the completion of a degree, Ed.U allows Rossier students to earn eco-bricks that will be used to build schools and community centers in developing regions through our partner organization Eco-Inclusion. For more about Eco-Inclusion please visit (insert link to EI page here).
What is the commYOUnity benefit?
At a time when the United States is facing a concerning teacher shortage, teacher aides present a double-sided opportunity to place prospective teachers in the classroom earlier improving early-career performance as well as career longevity, while providing additional classroom support for more personalized learning and workload management.
Rossier students sign up for shifts, rotating local classrooms based on need. For every completed and verified shift, an eco-brick is donated through ecoInclusion to build learning centers for communities in need. We envision schools across the country engaging educators and students in projects that benefit the local community as well as global learning community.
